We’re very excited that we’ve been nominated for an “Innovative Technology” award by Capital Business and the Northern Virginia Technology Council. Starting today, March 3rd, and continuing until March 7th, people can vote for Mobile Commons to progress to the next round of judging.
Please vote for us at the Capital Business website!
Mobile Commons was nominated in the “Commerce” category for the award. (Other categories include Social, Government, and Security.) The four companies in each category that get the most votes will get the chance to “pitch” their technology to Capital-area business leaders and explain why it solves a real-world problem. The two leading companies in each category will then face off in a head-to-head Q&A session to determine the winner.
It sounds like an interesting and exciting way to explore the virtues and disruptive capabilities of a number of technologies, so we hope we get the chance to advance to the next round. There’s stiff competition, though; we were nominated against some serious heavy-hitters, including RealNetworks and Verizon Wireless.
The award is part of Destination Innovation, a conference that “highlights technology advancements emerging from our region through an exhibition, networking, industry speakers and innovation pitches.” The event will feature keynote speeches from Michael Chasen, Founder and CEO of SocialRadar, and Carly Fiorina, founder of Carly Fiorina Enterprises and former Chairman and CEO of Hewlett Packard.
