As New Jersey works to rebuild and assess the billions of dollars of damages from Hurricane Sandy, citizens are faced with another problem: where should they vote in Tuesday’s election? Much of the state’s infrastructure has been damaged. That means many traditional polling places may no longer be operating.
To get the most reliable information, New Jersey Governor Chris Christie has asked New Jerseyites to text WHERE to 877877 to access Mobile Commons’ polling place locator. Spanish-speaking residents can also text in DONDE. As New Jersey sets up its new polling locations, our polling place tool will reflect the most current information. Citizens who may not have access to Internet can use their cell phones to stay informed. That way, even in this crisis, they can still make their voices heard.
