Many years ago, Jed launched a Britney Spears text message horoscope campaign: fans received text messages from Britney and then called in to hear her read their horoscope.
Soon after, while volunteering for a nonprofit advocacy organization, Jed had the crazy idea to re-use the Britney mobile program. This time, instead of connecting people to a recording of Britney, it connected callers directly to their Senator. It was an instant success!
Ben and Jed met soon after. Ben taught Jed all about the cloud, software as a service, and scaling. They immediately realized this functionality could (and should!) be available to anyone from an easy to use web interface.
With our humble roots empowering nonprofit organizations, Mobile Commons has grown to become the premier platform for running text messaging campaigns, whether you are reaching a classroom or a country.
