Today, City & State is hosting RealPolitch, a forum to discuss how technology is affecting government policy and news media in New York. According to the website,
City & State’s #RealPolitech forum (a play on RealPolitik) will inform and encourage practical and material uses of technology in government, campaigns, media, and the industries that operate in and around these spaces. The day’s discussions will look to ground the sometimes ethereal concepts with active examples of current, existing applications and how they can be best utilized.
We’re thrilled to be a co-sponsor of the event. The lineup of speakers includes political strategists, government officials, and representatives of major organizations that keep the city running – like Amber Sisson of Con Edison.
City & State has made available a live feed of the day-long event. Right now, Zachary Markovitz of Pew is discussing how the polling place locator helped citizens vote after Hurricane Sandy.
