This summer, Pittsburgh’s Carnegie Museums are stepping up their outreach with a brand-new Facebook page for their members. And to celebrate, they’ve created a mobile scavenger hunt that allows even the most frequent museum-goers to discover new things about the museums:

Members, charge your cell phones! In celebration of the remaining days of summer—and to introduce the new Carnegie Museums Members Facebook page—we’re inviting all members to participate in a Summer Museum Adventure. Just visit the four museums now ‘til Labor Day, cell phone in hand, and participate in a mobile-phone scavenger hunt that will take you through the halls, galleries, and exhibition spaces of Carnegie Museums of Art and Natural History, Carnegie Science Center, and The Andy Warhol Museum.

Science buffs, art lovers, and dinosaur enthusiasts begin their adventures by checking in at each museum and texting a special start code to a designated number. That’s when Mobile Commons’ Multiple Choice feature comes into play. Visitors receive multiple-choice questions that lead them to discover some of the museums’ hidden treasures.

There’s actually rewards for getting the answers right. Mobile Commons records the responses, and there will be a prize drawing at the end of the summer for the visitors with the most correct answers. Savvy scavengers could win VIP tours of the exhibits, or up to $500 in Carnegie Cash.

At Mobile Commons, we designed our Multiple Choice Questions functionality to apply in a variety of situations. Whether you want to take visitors on a dinosaur hunt or do a quick straw poll of your constituents, we can create a platform to ask the questions and record and evaluate the responses.  Have an idea – or want us to help you come up with one?  Email info@mobilecommons.com.

And if you’re in the Pittsburgh area, get started on the Carnegie Summer Museum Adventure by liking their Facebook page!
